2015 Philadelphia Tweed Ride Information

2014 Philadelphia Tweed RideGreetings! We’re looking forward to a great ride on Saturday, the 14th. Unlike last year, the weather should be quite lovely.

As usual, our meeting place will be the Philadelphia Water Works, located near the Art Museum. If you are driving in a need a place to park, consider the lot near Rembrant’s Pub and the Eastern State Penitentiary.

We’ll start to gather around 11 a.m., with a projected launch at noon, after a welcome message and a group photo.

We’ll continue on to Rittenhouse Square for a stop to dance with the Lindy Hoppers.

Then it’s onward through the city to Washington Square Park for our picnic. Make sure you vote for your favorite snappy lass and dapper gentleman during our picnic stop.

We’ll then continue on through to Olde City and say hello to our sponsors Briar Vintage and Trophy Bikes. This year we’re also pleased to welcome Philadelphia Salvage back as a sponsor.

We’ll conclude the day’s ride at Rembrant’s Pub for the after party, starting around 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

2014 Philadelphia Tweed Ride Is a Go!

We’re happy to announce that we have a date for the 2014 Philadelphia Tweed Ride – November 1st!

We’re really good about keeping our Facebook page updated with the latest – https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tweed-Ride-Philadelphia/131930280190471. Please “like” us to find out what we’re up to.

Meanwhile, we’re firming up the details and particulars.

As of now, we’re happy to announce that Rembrant’s will host our after-party. For information about Rembrandt’s, including directions, please visit their website.

Parking is always an issue in Philadelphia so we’re also happy to share that there is a public lot across the street from Rembrant’s. The daily rate is $13.

We’re also finalizing the route, which should be very similar to last year’s. One new feature of the ride is a more lengthy stop in Rittenhouse Square to give riders an opportunity to shake a tail feather with the Philadelphia Lindy Hop group.

Philly Tweed Spring Outting, May 2013

Photos from the 2013 Spring Outing

On May 19th, the Philly Tweed Ride group held a spring ride event, “The Spring Outing.” Featuring picnics and a vintage baseball game with the Athletic Baseball Club of Philadelphia, this was the inaugural spring event; the start of what we hope will be a new tradition.

Below are a few photos, provided by a participating cyclist.
